Siquijor Escapade | Salagdoong Beach Resort

A friend invited me for a two-day tour to Siquijor since a long weekend is coming. We will be traveling to Siquijor via Dumaguete. I am coming from Cauayan, so at 10 on a Sunday morning, I traveled back to Bacolod. Our departure was supposed to be at 10 PM, so I booked a hotel for a place to stay. However, on my way to Bacolod, I received a message that our scheduled departure was moved earlier to 5 PM. I had already booked non-refundable accommodation, so I checked in at noon and checked out by 4 PM.

The drive from Bacolod to Dumaguete is 6 hours. We departed late at 7 PM and arrived by midnight. Most establishments were already closed, but we found a 24/7 coffee shop where we ordered snacks and some beers while we waited for the morning to catch the earliest FastCat (mini ship) going to Siquijor.

By 9 in the morning, we arrived safely in Siquijor. We immediately scouted for a rented vehicle to tour us around the province. By the way, there are plenty of them at the entrance of the port trying to win every tourist's heart. Once we found one, we headed first to Salagdoong Beach Resort.

Salagdoong Beach in Siquijor is a stunning and popular destination known for its white sandy beach, crystal clear waters, and unique rock formations. Located in the town of Maria on the eastern side of the island, Salagdo-ong Beach is a must-visit for both locals and tourists.

The beach is well-maintained and offers various amenities for visitors, including cottages, picnic tables, and a restaurant serving delicious local dishes. There are also restrooms, showers, and changing rooms available for guests.

One of the main attractions at Salagdoong Beach is the cliff diving area, where thrill-seekers can jump off a 35-foot cliff into the deep blue waters below. For those looking for a more relaxing experience, the beach is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, or simply lounging on the soft sand and soaking up the sun.

The beach is surrounded by lush greenery and coconut trees, providing a picturesque backdrop for photos and a serene atmosphere for relaxation. Visitors can also explore the nearby rock formations and caves, adding to the sense of adventure and exploration.

To get to Salagdoong Beach, you can take a tricycle or motorcycle from the main town of Siquijor to Maria. From there, it’s a short walk or ride to the beach. Alternatively, you can rent a scooter or car to explore the island and visit Salagdoong Beach along the way.

Overall, Salagdoong Beach in Siquijor is a beautiful and exciting destination that offers something for everyone, whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or simply a day of fun in the sun.
