El Nido Getaway - Day 2 | Island Hopping

It was a long and tiring journey from Puerto Princesa to El Nido. Fifteen minutes past six in the evening when we left the city. The road to El Nido is pretty decent, it was all concrete - it's the zigzagging and elevated terrain that makes the ride uncomfortable for travelers.

We made our pit stop at Roxas for our dinner. It was already 30 minutes past eight. Roxas is the halfway point between Puerto Princesa and El Nido. We stayed for an hour for our dinner. Forty-five minutes past eleven in the evening when we arrived at El Nido.

A serene morning at El Nido

Our day 2, is an island hopping tour. There are four types of Island Hopping tours to choose from. We opted for Tour A which is the most popular one. It includes Three Lagoons at Miniloc Island, Shimizu Island, Secret Lagoon Snorkel with turtles at Seven Commando Beach, and a BBQ Lunch. By eight in the morning, everyone is in their aqua and swimming gear with sunscreens and sunglasses on. Lol.

The beauty of Miniloc Isalnd

Our first stop was supposed to be the Secret Lagoon but then the weather started to become ridiculous and it started to rain - heavy rain for that matter. Our tour guide suggested heading straight to Big Lagoon for Kayaking instead. Getting into the Secret Lagoon will be difficult when raining. The place is called Secret Lagoon because its entry to the Lagoon is too tiny it will only fit one person at a time.

And so we headed to the Big Lagoon. By the time we reached the lagoon, the weather had shifted from rainy to a beautiful sunny day perfect for whatever you wanted to do. The lagoon was grand enclosed in a majestic rock formation that serves as a mountain. The ambiance is inviting, the lagoon is already filled with people on their kayaks - paddling to and fro.

Kayaking at Big Lagoon

After kayaking we headed to Seven Commando Island for our lunch. Seven Commando is also enchanting with its white sand (I think it's the only beach that has the white sand on it, most of El Nido beaches are in creamy like sand) and crystal-clear water. There are other tourists already having a boodle fight lunch. Our guide secures a vacant space to setup our table.

After our lunch and having rested for a while, we proceed to our last destination, the Secret Island or popularly known as the Secret Lagoon. It's a small pool of water hidden within one of the most incredible beaches (Secret Beach) in El Nido, Palawan.

It was an amazing and fun day worth to be treasured. We headed back to our hotel, filled with extraordinary memories.
