El Nido Getaway - Day 1 | Arrival at Puerto Princesa

A friend in high school invited me if I want to join their company outing in Palawan. It will be in El Nido. I was reluctant at first because I'm going to be an outsider for that matter and how awkward would that be? She said, most of them will be bringing relatives or friends as long as they shoulder the expenses.

So it was settled and I said yes. I haven't had a getaway since the pandemic; Palawan or El Nido in particular is on my bucket list. Immediately I booked a plane ticket to Puerto Princesa before I can even submit my leave application which of course with no doubt will be approved, anyway. Lol. It will be a 5-day tour.

Our departure will be on the 20th and from Puerto Princesa, we will have lunch and rest while waiting for the rest. There will be batches traveling starting in the morning till four in the afternoon and coming from different locations because there is no direct flight from Bacolod to Palawan. By the way, my friend is based in Bacolod and so is the company she's working with.

All of them will be taking the Bacolod to Cebu (Mactan) route and from Cebu going to Palawan. I on the other hand will be coming from Manila.

My scheduled departure was delayed for 5 minutes. I was taking PAL, I arrived in Puerto Princesa 10 minutes past two in the afternoon when the rain started to fall.

So welcome to Puerto Princesa. Here's the video that I was able to capture upon my arrival.

My friend booked a lunch at Chikaan Bar & Restaurant before we travel to El Nido at 6 PM. It will be a 5-hour drive from Puerto Princesa to El Nido.
